I'm particularly excited to be a part of this upcoming show after the new year, featuring one of my works from my recent Unholy Martyrs series. Here's a brief synopsis of the exhibition: "The artworks chosen for Threshold were not only a response to the concept of a threshold, a marked point of passing between spaces or states of being, but the works chosen also speak to pressing issues we face as a society at this moment in time. The present is itself a threshold between past and future, the only moment in which we are able to act. STATEMENTKenneth Susynski is an American contemporary painter known for his unique, hybrid style that blends figurative expressionism with abstraction. His narrative oil paintings often explore historical, classical, and contemporary cultural themes with a distinct hint of wit and emotional contrast. His rendering of the human form is structurally influenced by a lifelong interest in historical and contemporary black-and-white photography.
