STATEMENTKenneth Susynski is an American contemporary painter known for his unique, hybrid style that blends figurative expressionism with abstraction. His narrative oil paintings often explore historical, classical, and contemporary cultural themes with a distinct hint of wit and emotional contrast. His rendering of the human form is structurally influenced by a lifelong interest in historical and contemporary black-and-white photography. His work bridges multiple genres, combining elements of impressionism, traditional portraiture, sharp figuration, and fluid abstraction to create fresh, layered oil paintings. |
